Founded by Jacob McIntyre, Toshia McIntyre, and Kendall Jacobs
to increase Math Fundamentals and Hands-on learning.
Kendall Jacobs has been teaching Mathematics at Casper College since 1999. He earned degrees in Geology and Secondary Education from Idaho State University and later received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Montana State University. Before coming to Casper College, Kendall taught middle and high school math and science for several years. He enjoys teaching all levels of mathematics from arithmetic through differential equations and is particularly interested in teacher education. He has taught mathematics to prospective elementary school teachers since 1998. . He is a member of the Teacher Preparation committee for the American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges and served as chair of the committee from 2010 - 2013. Currently, Kendall is a partner for the Wyoming First Robotics League and is the Co-Chair of the Wyoming Science Olympiad. Kendall is the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the Shanklin Faculty Teaching Excellence Award (2018), the AMATYC Excellence in Teaching Award (2017) and the Judith Bailey Scully Award (2008). Kendall is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences. He also leads evening sky observing sessions in the summer and gives monthly presentations at the Casper Planetarium.
Jake McIntyre has been a math educator for over 15 years. He has B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Mathematics Education from Brigham Young University. He also has an M.S. in Mathematics from Montana State University. Jake has taught mathematics at the high school level for 7 years and at the college level for 9 years from Arithmetic to Calculus to Linear Algebra. He is currently a math instructor at Casper College where he also teaches the Math for Elementary Teachers classes. Jake is a member of several professional organizations including AMATYC and has presented at several national conferences. Jake also has served on state committees including Complete College Wyoming and currently serves as an IRB co-chair at Casper College. He is continually involved in the First Lego League, Science Olympiad, the Natrona County Library Math Carnival, and 4th Grade Math and Science Day at Casper College. Jake also has served as a local Scoutmaster for several years. In his spare time Jake enjoys playing basketball and wakeboarding at Alcova.
Toshia McIntyre will complete her B.A.S. in Organizational Leadership degree from University of Wyoming this year. She has a A.G.S. from the College of Southern Nevada. She has over 18 years of experience in customer service working as an account representative, customer service representative and office assistant. Toshia worked in Testing/Assessment for two years and was a nationally certified proctor. She is currently the Office Manager/Photographer at a local Real Estate Company and General Manager at MathQuest. Toshia volunteers at First Lego League and helps run the children's group at her church. In her spare time, Toshia likes to read fiction books and play board games with her kids.
